Hello, My name is Rohan Pillai. I am 23 years old. I am currently a student doing Masters in Computer Science at North Carolina State Univeristy (NCSU, Raleigh). I am originally from Vadodara but now I live in Raleigh. I know 4 languages - Hindi, English, Gujarati and French.
I was born in Surat, Gujarat, back then it was a small city. My parents then shifted to Vadodara after a month. I was brought up, completed my schooling and lived nearly for 18 years in Vadodara. After not getting into the IITs (like 1,400,000 other Indian students :p), I joined ITNU, Ahmedabad in 2015. I graduated in May, 2019.
I have many interests. My hobbies include watching movies (I am a hardcore movie fanatic, check out my IMDb page for more :) ), travelling, reading about stuff I stumble upon on Wikipedia and football, or more accurately, watching football, which would be the exact description of what I might probably be doing right now (Manchester United all the way). Enough personal stuff about me, lets get some technical details as well. I am very interested in Web Designing and Blockchain Technology. I have been developing software modules and web applications in NetBeans since 2013, which was when I was first introduced to the field of Computer Science and I decided to choose it as my career.

Publications: Prof. Usha Patel & Rohan Pillai, ICICC 2018, Springer Publications
A research paper about a unique logical circuit that helps in lightweight encryption and decryption of data in small scale devices where DES, AES or other encryption techniques are not feasible. This new encryption technique can reliably encrypt and decrypt data without much overhead of calculations. This encryption mechanism fuses XOR encryption with a hashing algorithm thereby mitigating the cons of both and increasing the computational power required to attack such a system. Prof. Parita Oza, Rohan Pillai & Dr. Priyanka Sharma, ICRIC 2019, Springer Publications
This paper looks at the possible applications as well as the current progress of the integration of machine learning algorithms in the healthcare industry.
